You could be earning $$$ in less than a month. Y You could be earning $$$ in less than a month.

You heard that right.

I stumbled into my business somewhat by accident.

It was 2017 and I was working a full time job as a graphic designer. But when I had a bad day at work, I on a whim replied to a comment in a Facebook group asking for recommendations for someone to handle their email marketing.

I had freelance clients in the past, but they were one off graphic and web design clients, never reoccurring monthly work. Now, I had reoccurring income in exchange for a service I was providing everything month and it opened up a whole new world of possibilities.

What other services could I offer?

Who else could I help?

Could this be what I take full time so one day, I can have a business from home and be at home with my kids everyday?

YEP. it’s what become my full time, booked out business I have today with my kids at home with me. And it all started with one day of effort.

Looking back, I would have loved to plan it out and not just jump into it in a day - which is exactly why I’ve created my work at home parent roadmap. It walks you through everything you need to know to launch your own business FROM HOME - at a more realistic pace to account for having kids 🤪

The #1 “hack” that has helped me be more produ The #1 “hack” that has helped me be more productive as a work from home mom?

Getting dressed everyday.

It’s not a new or groundbreaking hack by any means, people have said it for years. But I resisted.

I like my pyjamas. I like being comfy. Why bother getting dressed if I didn’t have plans to leave the house?

When you look good and put together, you *feel* good and put together. And you just get more done. Or maybe it just makes it less comfortable to laze around on the couch 😂

If you’re been resistant to get out of comfy clothes, I challenge you to try it for a week and see the difference it makes. And I’m not talking changing out of pjs into leggings - go for jeans or even a dress! (With pockets though, cause we are still moms and need to carry stuff around with us)

As a work from home mom, most of my working hours are done while my kids are napping or in bed for the night. I prioritize client work in this time, which means I don’t always have the time I want to be working ON my business instead of IN my business.

Having a website designed to get new clients was a game changer for my business, allowing potential clients to learn everything they need to know about me + my business instantly - aka without waiting on an email reply from me. Because let’s be real, that can take days with two kids at home. It allowed me to book out my available hours in the month - and now I’m here to help other business owners do the same.

HEY THERE! I’m Meredith, your mom-biz BFF. If HEY THERE! I’m Meredith, your mom-biz BFF.

If you’re a parent looking to start or grow your business from home – you’re in the right place! I’m a brand and graphic designer with a passion for helping stay-at-home parents build their dream businesses (no MLMs required).

I love to chat all things lead magnets, sales funnels, client work, digital products, and motherhood - and doing it all at the same time, too.

I actually started my business as a side hustle while I was still working a full-time job. At the time, I didn’t have a family yet, but I always knew that I wanted to have the flexibility to work from home when the time came. Building my business on the side allowed me to take risks and learn from my mistakes without putting everything on the line. (A fun fact - I’m still working with one of my very first clients! It’s been over six years now, and it’s amazing to see how far we’ve both come.)

These days, my schedule is packed with 1:1 clients and I’m grateful for the success my business has brought me. But I still feel a strong pull to help even more moms succeed with their own businesses. Unfortunately, there just aren’t enough hours in the day to do everything! That’s why I’ve made it my mission to help as many stay-at-home parents as possible build their dream businesses from home.

If you’re anything like me, you want to be able to work from home and spend quality time with your family. Sacrificing one for the other just isn’t an option. So I’m excited to share my years of experience as a business owner with you, and help you build the work-at-home business you’ve always dreamed of.

It’s also okay to still want an income, but with flexibility for your family, working on your own terms, within your own schedule.

I always knew - before I ever had kids - that I wanted to be at home with my kids when they were little. I love spending my days with them and wouldn’t trade it for the world.

As a work-from-home mom with a toddler and a baby As a work-from-home mom with a toddler and a baby at home, it is very easy for me to feel overwhelmed with my to-do list each day. I was constantly getting into a cycle of having too much to do, getting overwhelmed, crying about it, making a list, powering through it all in a day, feeling exhausted, and then going back to… not actually doing what I need to do on a regular basis. Until I learned of a single mindset change that has helped me go from feeling overwhelmed with things to do to writing an entire blog post when my kids were napping and thinking “Hm, I have the next hour free – let’s see what I can work on next!”

Today I'm sharing how this simple yet powerful mindset shift revolutionized my approach to business, motherhood, and productivity - scroll through to read what this mindset shift is and four ways I practice it every day OR head to my blog to learn more.

Are you guilty of trying to do it ALL as a mom and business owner?

Repeat after me... I am dedicated and committed t Repeat after me...

I am dedicated and committed to the growth and success of my online business.

Imposter syndrome has a way of getting to my head, though not nearly as much after my year in Cheer Camp with @laurakelly.co . I’ve made an effort lately to be journaling about my business, and somedays when I can’t think of anything else to write... I write out some of my favorite business small biz + motherhood affirmations as a reminder to myself.

This is one of my favorite ones - because I AM dedicated and committed to the growth and success of my online business.

Even when I’m resting.

Even when I don’t get as much time to work ON my business as I’d like.

Even if a launch isn’t going the way I’ve planned.

Hey mama - Let’s talk about self care. It’s Hey mama - Let’s talk about self care.

It’s Monday, which probably means you spent a lot of the last few days entertaining your kids, doing chores, attending birthday parties, and not taking time just for you. Am I close?

We had a great, long, family-filled weekend and it was amazing! I loved getting to spend so much time with my family.

And. (Not BUT, and) I’m also feeling the lack of alone time catching up with me. My “alone time” was going to our local passport office and waiting for an hour just for them to reject my application because I used the wrong shade of blue pen.

Instead of powering through the last day of our long weekend, this morning I am sitting on the couch - alone - and enjoying a hot cup of coffee while my husband is playing with the kids in another room. It may seem like one tiny bit of self care, but I notice a huge difference in myself when I’m making time for self care on a regular basis.

☕️Drinking hot coffee alone.
💅Painting my nails with headphones on, blasting Taylor Swift.
📚Laying in bed reading instead of getting ahead on client work or chores (I just started the Fourth Wing!)

They feel small writing them out - but as a mom of two, business owner, and overall human being… they make a HUGE impact on my mental health and how I show up for everyone in my life.

What’s your favorite way to add some self care into your days?

#selfcare #mamapreneur #workingmom
In honour of #InternationalSelfCare day, I wanted In honour of #InternationalSelfCare day, I wanted to take a minute to hype up S E L F C A R E 🩷

After I had my daughter in December, self care went out the window. Between recovery from surgery, caring for my toddler, handling a newborn with terrible reflux, managing the household, and maintaining my client work after a maternity leave - there was no time left for self care.

Or at least that’s what it felt like.

Until I realized how much more touched out I was everyday. And overstimulated. And tired.

That wasn’t the case when I only had one kid, as it was a lot easier for me to make time for self care. Having *two* little humans relying on me felt like a whole different ball game.

I’ve had to become very intentional about my self care game to make sure I’m filling up my own cup - so that I can also fill up my kids cups, and fulfil my client duties.

But HOW do you find time for self care? You start small - it doesn’t need to be an hour long massage every week. There are so many small, soul-filling things you can do AT HOME while your kids are asleep or otherwise occupied.

Here are 5 ideas to get you started 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻

1. Enjoy a relaxing bath with scented candles and a good book (or your fave tv show in an iPad)

2. Curl up with a good book or indulge in your favorite magazine.

3. Practice mindfulness or meditation for a few moments of peace.

4. Take a nap, or just lay in bed scrolling your phone.

5. Engage in a fun hobby like painting, drawing, puzzling, or crafting.

What’s your favorite way to manage your self care at home?

If you’re a stay-at-home parent with a 1:1 servi If you’re a stay-at-home parent with a 1:1 service business, you may be wondering if it’s worth the effort to create a website. Spoiler alert: it is! In this post, we’ll go over the 5 key signs that indicate your business needs a website.

When you are just starting your business as a service provider, it can feel daunting (and expensive!) to create a website. You have to either spend the time creating one yourself, or spend the money on a web designer – both of which are tough as a parent trying to grow your business while you’re raising your kids!

In this day and age, it can feel like you have to be dancing in front of your phone to gain traction with your business. While I agree that you should have a social media strategy for your business, you don’t need to rely on DMs or social media engagement to get new clients. With new platforms popping up and algorithm changes happening on a regular basis, relying on social media to grow your business can be a dangerous game.

By having a website that you direct traffic to (and ideally, use to collect email addresses of potential clients for a mailing list), you are taking control of your audience and getting all of your eggs out of the social media basket.

What do you think – does it seem time to build a website for your business? Great! But do you know where to start with getting your website online? Start with my FREE Website Launch Checklist so you can get your business online and start booking more clients the for your business.

What’s the ONE mindset shift that helps me get m What’s the ONE mindset shift that helps me get more done as a work from home mom?

⬇️⬇️⬇️

“It’s not about getting more done - it’s about choosing to spend your time on the right things.”

This is something I learned during a six-week counselling program I took last fall. I went into it feeling overwhelmed because I was a stay at home mom, business owner, and pregnant with my daughter - I felt like I was always drowning in things to get done and never actually had enough time to get it done. I went into the program wanting to get new coping strategies for my recently diagnosed ADHD, but came out with this new mindset and it changed the way I operate in my business.

I generally try to take Friday’s off in my business - I’m often still at my computer, but save the days for some passion projects or working ON my business instead of client work. Last Friday, I had a long list of client projects I needed to get done so I sat down at my desk and planned to knock a bunch of stuff out over my kid’s nap times.

But then neither one of them wanted to sleep. So instead of getting work done, I was hearing two kids crying from different rooms.

What did I do? How did I get my work done?

I didn’t. I packed them into the car, went to Starbucks for an iced coffee, put on an old episode of @laurakellyco’s podcast and we went for a car ride. No one cried. No one slept. No one got work done.

But we had a fun afternoon, because car rides are one of my toddler’s favourite, most relaxing activities.

Did I get MORE work done? Nope.

Did I spend my time doing the right thing? Absolutely.

The flexibility that my business gives me with my kids is one of my favourite things about working for myself. It’s not easy and sometimes I feel so burnt out by it all - but at the end of it all I am so grateful for my business that allows me to be at home (or at appointments and gymnastics and swimming lessons) with my kids. It’s also why I love working with other parents in my business, because I know they’ll understand if I’m a little slow to respond because there are kids who need me a little bit more these days.
